![]() ![]() ![]() $299 for the Studio version doesn't seem too bad at all. Oh come on! You know what I meant! V-Log w/ GH-5 is the closest I can get!!!! If you don't have access to it, convert to a solid codec like ProRes, DNX or Cineform to conserve original quality. The clips playback and edit fine in Premiere Pro CC but 3 of them in DaVinci Resolve won’t load and shows up as offline. If you want to download a few clips click HERE The 5 clips are all 3840 x 2160. If you're referring to the 10 bit variant from the camera than Erik is correct and you need the studio version. I used Red Giant Colorista IV to grade a few shots without a LUT and got great results. So this video project came up, and we feel it would benefit from what we can get from the camera using V-Log, and want to learn more about Resolve LUT/grading features! We've been waiting for a good reason to use V-Log on the GH-5, as well as a reason to get away from Premiere Pro whenever possible. What you really need to do is have proper lighting, no two ways about it. This will be the first time editing V-Log footage as well as the first time using Resolve, so please consider us in the "Novice" category as we typically use a different camera and use Premiere Pro. Then, the GH5 has good performance in the shadows because the editor is not lifting them and is relying on the minuscule bright parts of the scene to bring light to the scene. When I import to Resolve, Resolve picks up the audio just fine, but for the video, there is a blank placeholder on the timeline, but no video. On the video editing PC: We can watch the video files with audio just fine, on the computer simply using VLC media player. ![]() Your advice, opinions and help are greatly appreciated!! So, I'd like to ask: What is the best Way to Convert Panasonic GH-5 V-Log Raw footage to edit in DaVinci Resolve? From what we've seen, we think the general idea is to convert to "AVID DNxHD" or perhaps ProRes. ![]()
